On the scoreboard details page, copy the Livestream Embed URL.

Copying the scoreboard embed URL

Instructions:

  • A copy button has been provided for your convenience
  • You will use this copied URL to paste into OBS in the next step

Pro Tip: You can customize the behavior of your scoreboard to meet game rules and your preferences with the "Settings" button in the upper right.

Step 3: Launch OBS

Open OBS, and select the scene you want to overlay the scoreboard onto.

Selecting a scene in OBS

Instructions:

  • Choose the scene that contains your camera inputs for the game
  • If you don't choose the scene with your camera inputs, you won't be able to seamlessly overlay the scoreboard

Pro Tip: Take a look at your Base (Canvas) Resolution under Settings > Video and note it for use in a later step.

Step 4: Create Browser Overlay Source

After selecting your scene, go to the "Sources" section and add a new "Browser" source.

Adding a browser source in OBS

Instructions:

  • After selecting your Scene, go to the "Sources" section
  • Click the "+" icon in the lower portion of the section
  • Select "Browser" from the list of source types
  • Choose "Create New" and name it something like "Scoreboard"
  • Click "OK" to proceed

Step 5: Configure the Browser Source

Paste the Livestream Embed URL into the URL field and set your input resolution / width & height.

Configuring the browser source in OBS

Instructions:

  • Paste the Livestream Embed URL into the "URL" field that you previously copied from ScoreboardMax
  • IMPORTANT: Enter your video base (canvas) resolution (i.e., 1920x1080). This will give you much better results than resizing the scoreboard with your mouse (will prevent blurriness).
  • If you do not know your video base resolution, go to Settings > Video > and you will find it under "Base (Canvas) Resolution"
  • You can leave the rest of the settings as the default values, and click "OK" to continue

Step 6: Congratulations, You're Ready to Go!

Your scoreboard should now be visible on the screen, ready for your broadcast.

Pro Tip: You can control the scoreboard from any device that has an internet connection - no need to control from your streaming computer.

Step 8: Invite a Guest Operator (Optional)

You can invite a guest to control your scoreboard temporarily in a couple of clicks - no sign-in required.

Sharing scoreboard controls with a guest

Instructions:

  • This is particularly useful when you are using volunteer help to operate your scoreboard
  • Click the "Share Scoreboard Control" button
  • Choose how long you would like to grant access - from a few hours up to a few days
  • The guest operator can scan the access QR code from their phone or tablet, or you can share it by text or email

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

Scoreboard Not Appearing

  • Verify that you have an active internet connection
  • Confirm you've copied the complete Livestream Embed URL correctly
  • Try refreshing the browser source (double-click on your scoreboard layer in "Sources", scroll to bottom, click "Refresh cache of current page")

Scoreboard Appears But Doesn't Update

  • Make sure that you are controlling the same scoreboard that is configured in OBS
  • Verify that you have an active internet connection
  • Try refreshing the browser source (double-click on your scoreboard layer in "Sources", scroll to bottom, click "Refresh cache of current page")

Positioning or Bluriness Issues

  • For best results, do not attempt to manually size the scoreboard by dragging the scoreboard frame
  • In the browser source, make sure that the width and height match the Base (Canvas) Resolution (under Settings > Video)
