Step 1: Create Your Scoreboard for Lightstream

Begin by creating and configuring a scoreboard in ScoreboardMax with your preferred sport, teams, and settings.

Instructions:

  • Sign in to your ScoreboardMax account
  • Navigate to the "Scoreboards" section from the main menu
  • Either select an existing scoreboard or click "New Scoreboard"
  • Choose your sport (football, basketball, volleyball, etc.)
  • Set up team names, colors, and logos
  • Customize any sport-specific settings as needed
  • Save your configuration

Step 2: Copy the Livestream Embed URL

From the scoreboard details page, copy the Livestream Embed URL for use in Lightstream.

Instructions:

  • Use the provided copy button for convenience
  • This URL will be pasted into Lightstream in the following step

Pro Tip: Fine-tune your scoreboard behavior to match specific game rules and preferences using the "Settings" button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Open Lightstream

Start Lightstream in your browser and set up your cameras and inputs for your stream as you normally would.

Instructions:

  • Set up your camera, audio sources, and other inputs according to your streaming preferences.

Step 4: Add Web Browser Input

Click the "Produce" icon (upper right) and scroll to the Overlay section

Instructions:

  • Click the "Produce" icon in the top right corner of Lightstream
  • Scroll down to locate the Overlays section
  • In the "Name" field, enter a descriptive name like "Scoreboard"
  • Paste the previously copied Livestream Embed URL into the "URL" field
  • Click "Save" to add the input to your stream

Step 5: Verify Your Scoreboard Integration

Your scoreboard should now appear on screen, ready for your broadcast.

Step 6: Access Scoreboard Controls

Go back to ScoreboardMax and select the "Scoreboard Control" link.

Instructions:

  • Adjust any scoreboard settings by clicking "Settings" in the top right corner
  • Find tips and instructions on how to operate the scoreboard at the bottom of the control panel

Step 7: Share Controls with a Guest (Optional)

Easily invite someone to temporarily control your scoreboard without requiring them to create an account.

Instructions:

  • Especially useful when working with volunteers to operate your scoreboard
  • Select the "Share Scoreboard Control" button
  • Specify the duration of access - options range from several hours to multiple days
  • Your guest can access controls by scanning the QR code with their mobile device, or you can share access via text message or email

Troubleshooting Guide

Common Issues and Solutions:

Scoreboard Not Visible

  • Check that you have an active internet connection
  • Ensure you've copied the complete Livestream Embed URL accurately
  • Try refreshing the browser source (right-click on the scoreboard input preview tile and select "Reload Page")

Scoreboard Visible But Not Updating

  • Confirm you're controlling the same scoreboard that's configured in Lightstream
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  • Refresh the browser source (right-click on the scoreboard input preview tile and select "Reload Page")

Positioning or Resolution Issues

  • For the browser source, ensure that width and height settings match your output resolution. To check, click Settings in the top right, select Display from the left panel, and review the Output Size.
